Went here for Father's Day dinner with my husband and two girls. We ordered penne vodka for my daughter... They brought her penne bolognese. Two totally different flavors. Luckily she liked it and ate it. I ordered a filet mignon, and my husband had skirt steak and salmon. We had to cut our meat with a butter knife. Since when do you go to a steak place, and have to use a butter knife to cut your meat?! We asked for our check because clearly our waiter wasn't going to bring it on his own. That took forever. It was literally a good 30 minutes before we got our check. We actually never ended up getting it at the table, my husband had to go up to the hostess and figure out what was taking so long and just paid her. With that being said, we won't be dining there again.

Went for the first and last time this Valentines' Day. Our waitress was harried and didn't take any pains to disguise that from us. We were brought bread AFTER our appetizers were finished (?). We were given the wrong steak orders (different cuts, different ways we wanted it cooked). After we all bit into our dinners, we realized they had been handed out wrong. The waitress only said "Well, I wasn't there to hand them out because I was busy." (We get it, you're busy). We handed them off to each other with bites missing (awesome) and continued on. My boyfriend told me later there was a hair in his (he was smart enough to be the only one to order salmon and hence make his dinner the most recognizable and unlikely to be given to someone else at the table to be bitten into). They had a prix-fixe menu for $46. That's steep for this area. That's steep when it involves a harried staff that doesn't care, the wrong entrée being served to you and hair in your food.

Excellent! Not overly complex just great cooking, ambiance, and hospitality. I will definitely come back. We had the escargot and bone in ribeye with peppercorn sauce. The steaks were perfectly pan cooked to medium rare and the sauce was an amazing compliment, though you really don't need it. I had the fries, which are more like potato chips that were perfectly and simply seasoned. Conrad learned that I had studied in Spain for a while and gave us complimentary flan and khalua chocolate cake. Both were excellent. Cue food coma......

So I am down visiting for the Daytona 500. My friend and I are sitting in the bar at Martins in Flager Beach (another good place!) and some elder fellow, who was a little tipsy, tells us about Conrad's. I really did not think much of it, but yelped it and low and behold it gets great reviews. Well, we had a day to kill so off we went! If you drove by this place, you'd never see it. On the far right of a ratty little strip mall. Does not do it justice! We were there for lunch, and it was fantastic!! I had the gazpacho soup and a dish called cod in green sauce. The soup was nicely spiced as I had asked for more spice and the fish was flaky, delicious and not fishy. Our waiter was beyond helpful, very willing to explain the item,s and make recommendations. And they had wines on the wine list I had actually heard of for reasonable prices. One appetizer, two entrees, two drinks and with tax and tip was under 60 I think, White table cloths, but you can go as you are for lunch for sure. You would need a reservation for dinner on a busy night. I highly recommend this place!

So this place was randomly selected because it was local which is something i love to check out and because group decision was steak Luckily they werent very busy at all when we got there so we got seated rite away. seems like usually they take mostly reservations. the decor and style of this place is very much what i expected it would be. Very classic and cozy. Obviously a locally run mom and pop establishment. but dont let that fool you they put the money into it and even though the location itself is a bit odd for a nice place its very welcoming once you walk in the door. The staff, which was limited to one lady it seemed like and possibly what could have been the owner (female) were both very sweet and attentive. The menu had a wide variety of different things to choose from. luckily they had a create your own type of things so i got to pick a couple. the one thing i wasnt a fan of was them being out of something, but i can understand they arent a chain and they only buy so much. plus the shrimp i ordered in place of the crab cake they were out of were AMAZING. The steaks were cooked well and not over seasoned with a bunch of random crap just basic and delicious highlighting all the flavor in the meat itself. wish i would have known about this place before hand. they had paella on the menu but you have to call ahead at least 24 hrs to order it. someone in the restaurant had and the owner brought it out and was showing it around to all the tables... and let me tell you I wanted it. the dessert OMG amazing. tiramisu was on the menu and u know i HAD to get it so glad i did was one of the best i have had in quite some time hands down this place was wayyyyyy more than i had expected i would recommend it to anyone in the area

Valentine's Day dinner ..we had a horrible evening. Booked a reservation a week in advance. When we arrived we were told to wait for a table, we could see 3 / 4 tops empty and I asked why we could not be seated and were told that earlier reservations took precedent. After about 5 minutes we were seated. That's when we discovered a preset menu w a price that was twice the going rate. A steak house w no Cocktails, poor service and mediocre meat, not the holiday evening that we signed up for. If the price had been 50% of what we paid, it would have been ok. The real kicker came when my wife found a piece of Plastic in her mashed potatoes.needless to say she could not finish her meal. I was prepared to raise holy hell, when the boss finally took her meal off the bill. That was a reasonable minimum thing to do.. Overall a really disappointing holiday evening.

Absolutely one of my top favorite places in St. Augustine. I went there twice and will be going all the time. First off the lady and husband are the most sweetest people ever, very kind and humble. Then the food is amazing especially the chorizo appetizer, and steak is very good, finally a place with quality food. I recommend anyone who wants a nice fancy steak dinner for reasonable price to try this place.

We came with a pretty large group of people, and while the service was great (professional, polite, and efficient), the food was just OK for the price. If they knocked they're prices down, menu-wide, about $5, I'd feel better about the food. While nothing was "bad", nothing knocked my socks off. The presentation is just so-so, so it doesn't do anything to dress up the "decent" food. It was cooked correctly, so don't get me wrong, I hate to complain. I just think the prices are a lil too much for the quality/flavor. The ceasar salad was tasty, as other yelpers described, thanks for the recommendation! My husbands steak was "a little bland" he said, though cooked properly. The garlic mashed potatoes were pretty tasty too, but green beans weren't anything great. Overall, decent food, with good service.

Excellent. Caesar salads had nice tang of anchovies, steaks were of fine quality and correctly cooked; my wife had the filet and I had the strip. The steaks had proper texture, very tasty and no gristle--nothing left on the plate. Fried potatoes and garlic mashed potatoes were first rate. Green beans were fresh and crispy. The waiter acted properly. I lived in Chicago for 64 years and know a good steakhouse. We'll probably hit this joint once a month.

Our favorite place to eat in St. Augustine. Fine dining. Food unbelievable. Desserts to die for. Conrad's chicken, sirloin steak tips, salmon, and my favorite linguini bolognase. We are determined to go through the menu but keep ordering our favorites!

We went here for my husband's birthday dinner. We made reservations because we weren't sure how crowded it would be on a Saturday night, but when we got there, there was plenty of seating. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and we were taken to our table. It has a nice quiet ambiance, and they have little oil lamps at each table. It's pretty romantic without being ridiculously expensive. I was also glad to see that it was run by a husband and wife, we love to support small businesses, especially those that are family owned. I started with the salad, which was probably very good, but I prefer salad with lettuce, and this one had leaves. (I cannot bring myself to eat it, I'm weird, I know.) My husband had the crab soup, and he really liked it. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the ribeye. We both had garlic mashed potatoes and green beans as the side. The steaks had great flavor, didn't need salt or anything. We both really liked the mashed potatoes. The green beans were crispy, and they were good, just not the kind I prefer. All in all, a delicious meal. Our waitress was very nice and very attentive. We will definitely eat here again when we come to St. Augustine.

Delicious and definitely going back! This is based on 2 visits, about a week apart. I took my brother here for his birthday dinner and it was so good, we went back 6 days later for the paella. Our first meal, we started with the escargot, which was excellent, and even my brother who had never had it and was skeptical about eating snails, loved it. The caesar salad was awesome-- thanks fellow yelpers for the heads up on this! Had it not been for you, I probably would not have ordered it. I had the crab cakes as my main- a bit bready for my liking, but they were good enough there was none to take home. My brother had the pork loin, and he said it was a bit tough, but the orange sauce was divine. Our favorite side was the garlic-mashed potatoes. We shared a pitcher of sangria-- it's red wine, not white in case you are curious, and although I would have liked it sweeter, it was light and refreshing. For dessert, the tiramisu and lemon cake are incredible. The second visit, we had the paella. NOTE: You have to request this 24 hours in advance! And, Chef Conrad was great at respecting our request for no mussels and clams, and even added more of the other ingredients. We were nervous about asking because we didn't want to offend the chef, but Mary assured us he'd rather know and make what you want than for you to be disappointed. We ordered it for two, and it was gigantic, which meant we had enough for at least two more meals- yum! We also made sure to save room for dessert and tried the Kahlua cake and flan, both good, but the tiramisu and lemon cake are still our favorites. Depending on what you order, it can be pricey. Ours was about $100 both times. But for great food and great service, it was worth it. We are definitely returning and getting the paella again.

I travel a lot all over the nation...this is the best steak I have ever had. Don't let the fact that it is in a strip mall deceive you. This is the house of a master artisan. The filet mignon melted in my mouth, perfectly seared and divine. The green beans were a rich bright green perfectly sautéed and bursting with flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were tasty and perfectly blended. I wish I had only gotten water to drink so not to have contaminated any of this master craftsman's creation dancing on my palate. Priced more than fairly for the servings and portions were hearty. Why would you spend money going to get a steak at outback or the like for some untrained laborer to warm up a frozen steak when for practically the same cost you can have a master prepare your dinner?!?! Conrad puts soul and years of skilled experience into this food and it is more than obvious. I could say more but I'm simply wasting precious time that you could be ordering your perfection from Conrad. Stop looking you've found the place so get going!!!!

Wow! What a spectacular meal my wife and I enjoyed at Conrad's steakhouse. Conrad Martin the Spanish born owner and chef has created a menu that is both expansive and extraordinary..my wife had the apricot glazed salmon with Conrad's specially prepared potato fries and was best she ever had the pleasure to be served. I had the pasta vegetarian primiavera with the tomato cream sauce . The vegetables were perfectly prepared and the sauce was unbelievably delicious. Nothing I've ever had could compare with the taste and quality of this dish. Conrad is an internationally praised chef and it shows in both his preparation and presentation of his extraordinary menu. It has everything . Steak, chicken, fish dishes, no matter your preference I wager it will be one of the best meal youve ever had the pleasure to be served. We shall return often and will tell all our friends that Conrad 's Steakhouse is the best restaurant in St Augustine, Florida. Bravo !

We were visiting from Phoenix and my husband wanted STEAK and I wanted DUCK.......this place fit the bill COMPLETELY!!!!! Don't be put off by the location, it's in the corner of a small strip mall. You are greeted by Mary, whose husband is the chef with wonderful European training....and it tastes like it as well!!! The atmosphere was charming, the food tasty and Mary's special Chocolate Kahlua is worth the extra calories....... GO FOR IT!!!!!! We will definately be back when we're in Florida.

I ordered the bone-in rib eye (rare). It came medium, and my fries were soggy. My sister ordered the NY strip (medium). It came rare, and the top of the steak had somehow been charred. Obviously, someone didn't realize how hot the grill was running. It's just unacceptable to call yourself a steak house and to allow these things to happen. It's insane that I paid $70 for these two steaks. In addition, the server got my sister's drink order wrong, and my brother's salmon salad came out as the salmon filet entre. If that wasn't enough, the "fresh out of the oven" bread was cold. I don't mean room temperature; I mean it was most likely frozen and then defrosted. For some reason, I was constantly told that it's not a typical steakhouse. You know what? I don't care if this isn't a typical steakhouse. If you put the word steakhouse in your name, and you put steak on your menu, then you had better know how to cook it properly when you're charging those expensive prices.

Not sure what to write here to be honest. Menu write up of the place says Conrad is Spanish, but studied culinary arts in Switzerland. Which explains a lot as I have eaten extensively in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and it seemed exactly like eating there 20 yeas ago. Lots of heavy and overdone sauces and odd (these days) touches like thinly sliced circles of carrots (both very Germanic). I had the Lamb shank easter special which was OK but nothing special, seafood special was decent, garlic chicken was so strong my son had to scrape the sauce of (we were warned about that by our very nice waitress though). Crab soup was way too creamy and not very pleasant at all. Tiramisu was actually very good - my wife makes the best ever and just finding it in a restaurant a) homemade and b) using mascarpone is very unusual. Decor a bit all over the place, clientele definitely an older 60+ crowd for the most part. Service a bit slow at times, but very polite and friendly which counts for a lot. Overall, OK I guess, but wish I had tried a steak (had one the night before so wanted something different)

Mom had the filet mignon, she could not stop raving about how tender and succulent it was. Treat yourself to a 100.00 meal for $70.00! Nice environment nice people. Open to 9 pm. Call ahead.

This place is a hidden gem in our nation's oldest city. This isn't in the downtown tourist area and is located at the end of a nondescript half vacated strip mall south of town. As you can tell by the large number of cars out front, this place is worth a try. The place is pretty small but they somehow have more tables than you'd expect and service is very prompt and friendly. It's a mom and pop local steakhouse with a varied menu that also includes seafood, pasta, and paella upon call ahead request. The menu features 10-12 entrees with a choice of two sides and a salad for a reasonable price. One weird thing is they don't have steakhouse staples French Onion soup or baked potato. I had the 10oz sirloin with garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, and a side salad. The steak was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly without too much seasoning flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were homemade and excellent as well. The green beans were crispy, fresh, and cooked with a bit of salt on them for a little extra flavor. The salad was okay and perfectly fine but nothing special. A steak, two sides, and a salad for $18 is quite a deal. The secret must be out about this place since it was fairly crowded but it's definitely worth a try and I'll be back sometime when I'm back in town.

Garbage, CHOICE grade horse meat. The owners a dueschebag to boot. Do your taste buds a favor and pop open a can of Alpo instead...

One of the worst meals I have ever had. The service is just as bad. After sending back the dry over cooked chicken I was told that's the way it's supposed to be. Never again.
